Monday – 14th September – at sea

Weather about the same but we went and sunbathed anyway, got a few hours in before retiring to complete our cruise questionnaire. A tricky one as the ship and staff have been excellent, it’s just the other people on board that have annoyed. I think if we go on a ship like this again it was have to be during school holidays to get some people nearer our age bracket on board!


Tuesday – 15th September – Malaga

Not so good weather wise, which wasn’t a bad thing. Nice and cool start to the morning as we drove from Malaga to Granada. By the time we got to Alhambra it was nice and warm but not too hot. Spent two hours going around the place, could have spent more as it was lovely. I wouldn’t have minded living there in days gone by! All very calm and peaceful, bar the tourists.

We hoped on the coach to go to the hotel for a Spanish buffet. Very nice it was, bar the massive dish of paella with king prawns staring at me. Urgh. We ended up sitting with one of the tour guides, alas she wouldn’t be drawn too much on my question about incidents this cruise on the tours. Very professional of her, damn.

Hopped on the coach for the ride back to Malaga and the heavens opened. Then stopped. Then opened. Then stopped. Etc. Not like the real rain we back home. Turns out it had thrown it down back in the port, sunbeds empty but the sun was out drying them off. As we left port we sat at the back of the boat with a drink to watch Malaga disappear, as we did the water from the deck above cascaded down the steps at the side, was like a waterfall!

Wednesday – 16th September – At sea, on the way home

Ah well. On the homeward leg now, the sun is out, the sea is a rockin but its ok, we are used to it now. Until the Bay of Biscay kills us. Not sure I fancy one of the Caribbean cruises, crossing the whole of the Atlantic would probably be a rough ride. The wind is cold though, so very cold, so not many sun bathing.
