Thursday – 10th September – Dubrovnik
So England win in style and I never got to see it. Pfft. Nevermind.
Dubrovnik is a very nice place, only scratched the surface and might have to come back. Oldies are really starting to annoy on the tours now, just soooo slow! Getting off the coach takes an age, getting off the bloody boat takes ages. We keep ending up at the back of the group and the guide is off around the corner before we get out of the room we were in.
Flashing back to Pompei there was a woman who turned up at the coach in a wheelchair and then had a walking stick to walk around Pompei. A 2000 year old city. She didn’t last long. Basically the walk up the entrance, what a waste of her money. Why do they book on these tours? Crazy!
Friday – 11th September – Corfu
Ah, memories from years gone by. Still a lovely island, visited a few spots and had a Greek lunch. Ridiculous amount of food, lovely. As usual the older contingency where whinging to themselves about climbing steps etc, I’ll just pass comment by saying that the tour description tells you what is involved, even down to the number of steps.
One bloke had a turn at the end and fell, hurt his hip so we had to wait for a while on the coach until it was decided an ambulance would have to come and get him, he couldn’t walk up the coach steps.
Real eye opened this cruise, I really don’t want to get old!!!
Saturday – 12th September – Cefalonia
Lovely lovely island. The tour guide was a Brit who moved their 6 years ago, not sure why he has stayed, real Victor Meldrew (yes, worse than me) and he was so politically incorrect with his comments it was great!! Though he did upset two scots on the tour. Which was great!
The island itself is full of twisting winding roads with some stunning views of the sea, especially seeing the white effect of the limestone washing into the sea. Would like to come back and have a really lazy holiday here, looks really peaceful. Not so much whinging on this one from the old folks.
Managed to watch the football as well, good banter with spurs fans in the bar. And there is something infinitely better when watching football in a pub when people serve you drinks rather than having to go to the bar!
Sunday – 13th September – at sea
I look out the window and see clouds. Meh. The sea is calm and hopefully it will clear up later. , wanted to post this from the coffee shop but it seems if there is a cloud in the sky everyone goes there so we are in the pub again. Looking forward to a couple of relaxing days to recover from all the trips. Then we hit Malaga for our final port.
